Introduction
Zakah, the third pillar of Islam, and voluntary charity (Sadaqah) serve as practical demonstrations of a believer’s faith, helping to purify wealth and assist those in need.
The Obligation of Zakah
Allah says:
“Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase.” (Surah At-Tawbah 9:103)
Benefits of Charity

- Protection from Calamity:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 614)
